Our Dos Aves Stout Imperial won a gold medal in the latest international beer competition, Cerveza Mexico 2015, as the best Russian Imperial Stout. This means that right now, the Dos Aves Stout Imperial is recognized as not only one of the best beers in San Miguel de Allende, but as one of the best beers in Mexico.
Our version of the classic Russian Imperial Stout is rich and complex with notes of bitter chocolate and coffee imparted by the use of a combination of dark roasted malted barley. The medium-high Chinook hops bitterness balances the sweet perception of chocolate. In the glass, the Dos Aves Stout Imperial appears jet black with a gorgeous well-formed mocha-colored head. We are very proud of our full-bodied, velvety, luscious, big, dark ale.
