Dos Aves participated in the inaugural international professional beer competition in Guatemala City called Copa Quetzal. We are happy to report that two of our beers, the American Pale Ale and the American Barleywine with Rye, won Silver Medals in their respective categories.
These awards make a total of 42 awards for the Dos Aves brewery since we started operations in December 2012. Congratulations to the entire team of Cerveceria Dos Aves for a job well done! |

(Leer en español) You asked for it, and we listened. Our award-winning Stout Imperial will no longer be limited to the winter months, as we have decided to add it to our year-round lineup! Effectively immediately, you can ask for your Dos Aves Stout Imperial wherever Dos Aves beers are sold (subject to availability)!
Our Dos Aves Stout Imperial won a gold medal in the latest international beer competition, Cerveza Mexico 2015, as the best Russian Imperial Stout. This means that right now, the Dos Aves Stout Imperial is recognized as not only one of the best beers in San Miguel de Allende, but as one of the best beers in Mexico.
Our version of the classic Russian Imperial Stout is rich and complex with notes of bitter chocolate and coffee imparted by the use of a combination of dark roasted malted barley. The medium-high Chinook hops bitterness balances the sweet perception of chocolate. In the glass, the Dos Aves Stout Imperial appears jet black with a gorgeous well-formed mocha-colored head. We are very proud of our full-bodied, velvety, luscious, big, dark ale.
OK, so they are not technically golden ales, but they’re OUR golden ales! This year, Cerveceria Dos Aves won two GOLD medals with our Pale Ale and “Stout Imperial” at the Cerveza Mexico 2015 Professional Beer competition, Mexico’s largest international beer event.
We are proud of both medals, but we are especially proud of the gold medal for our American West Coast Style Pale Ale, brewed in a style that is very close to our hearts. This is the beer that reminds us of our roots in California. And now, we are proud to say that we have successfully brought the West Coast style to the heart of Mexico, the Bajio region, and San Miguel de Allende, our home.
